Winemaking: Organic Catarratto grapes were harvested by hand. 5 days skin contact and fermentation with indigenous yeast. Aged in stainless steel tanks for 9 months. Bottled with no filtration, fining or added sulphur.

This Wine: Natural skin contact wine made from a few plots around Gloria's house. Only 327 bottles produced so we haven't tried yet but you can expect a volcanic expression of Catarratto with depth and precision.

Notes on the Winemaker: On the eastern side of Mount Etna, 800m above sea level, Gloria di Paola farms 3 hectares of vines. This is one of the most beautiful vineyard locations I have ever visited, with the snowy peak of Etna visible above us and the gleaming Mediterranean sea below. The vines were planted in 1992, two years before Gloria was born and the grapes were previously sold to the co-op until she decided to make her own wine in 2019. These are unique and authentic expressions of this special part of the world and are made in tiny quantities.
